Hand drawn concept drawing through completion ..

Just wrapped up installing this custom designed built-in at an old house on the East Side of Providence. We went with a majority of rift sawn white oak with a little mix of quarter sawn and a few pieces of plain sawn to match the grain in the original wood floors. Customer requested clean and simple lines throughout and we matched up the existing crown molding and base trim to tie is all in together. Existing floor registers were extended through the base trim with flush recessed removal matching vents held in place magnetically for easy removal if the need ever arises to service the ducts. The flip up window seat provides extra storage and will receive a nice comfy cushion top which is being custom fabricated. All components were shop sprayed in clear conversion varnish prior to installation for a durable and easy to maintain finished product. Really happy with how this project turned out!

We recently delivered this custom made mahogany console table and mirror set. It was made to accompany an adjacent mahogany sliding screen door we also designed, crafted and installed earlier this past summer. Great fit with the rest of the porch and well built to last many years outside in coastal Rhode Island.

Nice little mudroom bench we just finished up. This will be built into an adjacent angled partition and receive an upper piece of molding at the ceiling after this is all scribed to the floor and walls. Being a small foyer where it will go I incorporated a bowed seat edge to help soften the left corner in the walking path while also providing a little extra depth for strapping up those laces.

This is a custom designed and built octagonal wrap around home office. Being a small space every square inch was utilized to hit all the homeowners requests…in drawer docking station, recessed desktop outlets, 4 file drawers, 2 small utility drawers, keyboard drawer, printer stand, tall bookcase and enough room for a swivel chair. In the last “before” picture you will see the top caps of the concrete support columns we had to contend with, which ran from the foundation up through the second story of this waterfront turret addition, meaning they were staying put. Challenging but not impossible to conceal aesthetically. Fun project and really dig the rich walnut desktop against the aqua blue finish!

This is a built in cabinet project we finished up this fall. It was created for an older house in Providence RI where the objective was to make it feel original. Small details such as the bullnose edging, beaded face frames, panels, half inch thick overlay drawer fronts with ogee edging, bed molding and salvaged antique brass bin pulls were specifically selected to be in keeping with rest of the homes existing millwork. We even took it as far as a hand brushed finish with intentional lap strokes and occasional run versus our typically requested sprayed finish. While this project might not necessarily be the “magazine shot”, it’s exactly what the homeowner sought and that is what makes our process truly custom.

Concept to fitted finish installation..
One of our GC builder associates reached out to us with a basic idea to design and build a matching set of bedroom built-ins. Being a small beach cottage with limited space the goal was to create a storage system that would replace the need for traditional closets and furniture. The two tall flanking cabinets have an interior clothes hanging system, adjustable shelves and lower pullouts. The center bank of drawers acts as a dresser with a large top for placement of personal items and daily wears. Classic shaker style cabinetry goes well with the overall coastal design and the integrated shiplap backdrop for the flat panels.

Conceptual drawing #2 was selected by the homeowners for this custom built entertainment center for their finished lower level game room.
Their original vision was a combination of three flat screens with some hidden storage and space to display some personal items/ decor.
The rest was up to KTDB. Concept through completion. .
All of our custom built projects come with a scaled set of conceptual sketches for client approval before shop drawings are produced for the production team.

Wall to wall built-in wardrobe. Simple and efficient storage system and a nice alternative to a traditional closet that tends to have lots of hard to reach dead space. The lower set of drawers feature a drawer within a drawer (double stacker) behind the large single shaker front panel which will be utilized for shoe / sneaker storage.
