Introducing Kimberly Smith as Catherine!

Kimberly was most recently seen as Annelle in STEEL MAGNOLIAS (2026) and Caitlin OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS (2025)!

“Taking on the role of Catherine has opened me up to emotions that I’ve rarely expressed in my life. Though I’ve of course been angry in the past, or felt betrayal or overwhelming doubt, it’s never felt quite natural or safe to express these emotions. Catherine has no problem embodying the emotions that course through her, to the point of not backing down no matter who is on the other side. This both helps and hinders her, and is difficult to balance with her intelligence. Can someone think one’s self out of insanity? Or is overthinking a tried and true trap back into it? Exploring these displays of emotion and the volatile currents that run under them has been an interesting and expansive process. I am deeply grateful to do so safely beside a cast and crew of experienced and sensitive people. I am excited to continue diving into all that Catherine has to offer, and I hope to do this beautifully flawed, complex character justice.”

“In the Pulitzer and Tony-winning Proof, David Auburn has fashioned an exhilarating and assured play – a subtle and gripping exploration of loss, guilt, discovery, instability and the elusive nature of truth.”

Introducing Alex Baylor as Hal (Harold Dobbs)!

Alex has been involved in almost every PFATC production for the past eight years, either on or off stage, and was most recently seen on stage as Nicky in OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS along with our two Christmas productions last year. This year he had his directorial debut with STEEL MAGNOLIAS! He is excited to be on stage again, especially alongside his girlfriend, in PROOF.

"‘The proof is in the pudding.’ Well, I can't guarantee any pudding, but if you come to Willow Leaves of Hope this October, I can guarantee you'll get PROOF. Like, a fine mathematical proof, this show masterfully tells its story, moving elegantly from beat to beat with no wasted moves. It's an honor and an immense pleasure to have the opportunity to perform this excellent show for you all. Kathryn Baylor Trabold's auspicious directorial debut is bolstered by the incredible acting talents of Kimberly Smith, Dr. Michaela Fuller, and J. Rob Taylor all delivering to the fullest with their fantastic nuanced performances. For my part, I am very pleased to portray the loveable (and surprisingly cool) math geek, Harold Dobbs, (he plays in a band). PROOF is a unique and very special show that you will not want to miss!”

Introducing J Rob Taylor as Robert!

J Rob was most recently seen on the WILLow LeaVes stage as Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play" & behind-the-scenes as the co-director for "Kindred Spirits: an Anne Sequel" and he's excited to be back on stage in PROOF!

"Robert is a brilliant professor and mathematical genius whose mind is simultaneously his greatest gift and struggle. Exploring his complex relationship with his two daughters, Catherine and Claire, has been one of the most rewarding challenges of this production. As a father of two adult daughters myself, I know firsthand how deep family love runs; bringing that authentic emotional dynamic to the stage is something I hold close to my heart. This play isn't just about math or mental health. Our Passion For Acting presentation of PROOF is an intimate, compelling look at trust, legacy, and the lengths family will go to support one another. Don't miss this incredible show!"

Introducing Kathryn Baylor Trabold as the Director of PROOF!

Kat was last seen on the WILLow LeaVes stage as Shelby in STEEL MAGNOLIAS. Kat and her husband just moved back to Indiana from Eastern Tennessee and she's excited to be back and directing straight out of the gate!

“I first learn about PROOF in 2023 when I got to photograph my alma-mater’s production of it. Once the first plot twist dropped, I was immediately in love with not only the acting and the set, but the story itself. This show handles the heavy topics of grief and mental illness with such tenderness while also never being afraid to confront the gravity of those situations. I hope this show allows you to deeply relate to the characters if you’ve been through anything similar or helps you understand others’ point of view if you’ve never been in their shoes. Directing this show has been a dream of mine since 2023 and I’m so blessed to be able to do so with this spectacular cast.”
