Have you been waiting for our exciting news??? Happy Hen Antiques has doubled its size at the wonderful Concord Antiques!!! Our new booths aren’t quite complete, but you can see where we’re heading with these pictures . We are so very excited to have the room to bring in some select pieces of furniture. These booths are really a dream come true and we thank all our loyal customers for making this expansion possible. Our new booths are located in the back corner of the shop on the little second floor. Just a few steps will bring you into a wonderful section of the store that maybe you didn’t even know existed! So wander through the shop and don’t forget to take a few steps up to visit our new Happy Hen Antiques booths!! Concord Antiques is open every day from 10-5.

I did not expect to get to do any picking at all this weekend! I snuck away from the farm for a few hours and that was all I needed to secure some really fun finds! If you’ve been following our posts recently, you’ve noticed we really have been finding so many wonderful things! Where are we going to put everything?? Concord Antiques of course!!! Which Happy Hen Antiques booth you ask?? You’ll just have to wait and see!!! Stay tuned!

One of my favorite things about this little antique business is the people that I meet! I met a really cool woman a few years ago when I first opened my booth at Concord Antiques. Since then I’ve shopped her sales, set up at markets with her, run into her while picking, you get the picture, we like the same things!! When she decided to downsize some of her cool items, you better believe I jumped on the opportunity. Lots of wonderful garden items to celebrate the best time of the year!!! Fall brings a wonderful change of seasons and the perfect occasion to highlight outdoor decor. Fun items for the man cave as well with hubcaps and license plates. Of course Jojo and Louis enjoyed the beautiful weather this morning and the chance to hang out. Added a few pictures from our Happy Hen Antiques booths and you can expect these items to head there soon! Stay tuned for exciting news!!!

Not a large pick this week, but some nice things!! As the weather starts to cool down, it’s nearing nesting season and lovely additions to your home are a must!! Thank you for waiting while I begin sorting through the stunning treasures from my Mother in law. She was truly a world traveler as you can see from these photos. These pieces are not only a level of quality I’ve not had to offer in the past, but they truly are an opportunity for me to gain valuable knowledge. Most of these treasures will make their way to our Happy Hen Antiques booths at Concord Antiques over the coming months. I’ve got so much research to do, please be patient with me!! Yesterday was a bittersweet day. We spent the day in northern Vermont helping to clean out my Mother in law’s estate. Having done that with my mom’s not long ago, I knew it would not be easy. When I first met Elaine many years ago, it was quite a quiet meeting, right up until the moment we were leaving and I mentioned how lovely her gardens were! That was it, that was my ticket to her heart! As time went on we also bonded over her lovely antiques, especially her primitives. As she thinned her collections, she would send me home now and again with lovely items to add to my collections or to help my growing Happy Hen Antiques. I think she would be pleased that I will be finding homes for her lovely treasures. She travelled the world and brought home pieces from many countries. I wish I’d had the opportunity to hear all the stories. There is never enough time, is there?
In the coming days I’ll post the pictures of her amazing collections of artwork, pottery, primitives, and so much more.

Have I mentioned before how much I enjoy this little business of mine? Happy Hen Antiques is one of the few things that takes me off my farm and gives me a change of scenery! Today brought me through several states, multiple picks, back home to meet a lovely couple who happily dug through my treasures to find some treasures of their own! The day ended with a pick actually being delivered to my doorstep!! I was so fortunate to be contacted by a wonderful woman I met during the holidays last year, she made the world’s best caramels! When I’m fortunate enough to acquire a personal collection, it’s truly amazing. Enjoy the pictures and please message me if you see something you’d like!!
