Happy National Cat Day! 🐱

Cats might be the most underrated photo subjects out there and they have become a favorite of mine... all attitude, zero cooperation, and every shot still turns out perfect (they move at a much slower pace than the pups & their eyes are mesmerizing).

P.S. JunB Pet Services Doggy Socialization Fundraiser on November 7th benefits Barn Cat Outreach, who does incredible work for local cats!😍 I will be there photographing all the adorable pups in their Halloween costumes.

Looking for a free/cheap indoor venue for a dog fundraiser! 🐾🎃

What: Halloween dog socialization fundraiser, Sat Nov 7 (~3 hrs)

Who: JunB Pet Services volunteers, max ~30 people at a time

Format: dogs enter one at a time so nervous pups acclimate; group play at the end for returning pups only, photos by Rachal Rosalee Photography

Where the money goes: 100% to Barn Cat Outreach (local rescue)

Need: free or very low-cost indoor space

Bonus: we're accepting sponsors for the first time!

I was a little nervous going into this one… and now I’m wondering why I ever was.

Meet Tucker- Canaseraga Class of 2027! 🎓

This was actually my first senior session, so I’ll admit I had some nerves going into it. But I had the chance to sit down with Tucker for an in-person consultation beforehand and really get to know him. I learned about the things that are important to him, like his truck and all the time and work he’s put into customizing it, and how he loves wearing hats. So we made sure to bring both of those things into his session.

I really wanted these to feel like Tucker, not just a bunch of typical senior pictures.

And then we just had SO much fun.

The weather decided to keep us on our toes with rain coming and going throughout the session. 😂 But Tucker was a trooper and we just kept going. Honestly, the rain and darker skies ended up making some of my favorite photos.

And I have to laugh because I’ve had SO many people warn me that senior boys can be hard to work with. Meanwhile, Tucker actually liked so many of his photos and had a hard time picking his favorites. 😂 I’ll take that problem any day!

Get you a photographer who is willing to shoot into the dark and through the rain and keep going until you get those images that are worthy of turning into artwork. 🖤

One of my favorite parts of this session was getting to focus on one person and really tell their story through their photos. It honestly made me wish my own senior photos had been this cool and that someone had taken the time to sit down with me, get to know me, and figure out what made my photos feel like me.

That's what I want my senior sessions to be. Not just pretty pictures, but pictures that actually mean something to the person in them.
