🍫🌺 When chocolate is your business, you can’t go to Maui without learning a little more about chocolate!
We had such a great time visiting the Maui Chocolate Tour at Ku‘ia Estate. We walked through the cacao farm, saw the pods growing right on the trees, opened cacao pods and learned more about the process that takes cacao from the tree all the way to finished chocolate.
One of the coolest parts was getting to feel the incredibly slimy pulp surrounding the cacao beans inside a freshly opened pod — definitely not what you picture when you think of chocolate! 😂
We finished the experience by sampling several of Ku‘ia’s chocolates, including chocolate grown and made right there in Maui, along with others crafted in Maui using cacao sourced from around the world. 🌴
