"Leaning Palm"

A Gulf Coast escape, designed for a fashion-forward couple who love color and is inspired by their personal art collection. The vibrant home is a true reflection of the couple's style and love of life.

This living room evolved from the fully saturated floral fabric on the sofa pillows. The space is a vibrant and glamorous space to relax or host. The soft feminine curves of the sofa and piano contrast against the geometric lines on the fireplace surround and wall. This unique tile pairing adds texture to the space without over drenching in color. The custom arm chairs feature strong architectural bones with bold upholstery to make a dramatic statement. Mid-Century Modern inspired furniture pieces add timeless elegance. Sculptural accessories and lamp emphasize an artistic touch. A pair of antique Asian chairs with custom made cushions and Afro-American accessories represent the Client's love of travel and exploration of cultures.

“Leaning Palm”

A Gulf Coast escape, designed for a fashion-forward couple who love color and is inspired by their personal art collection. The vibrant home is a true reflection of the couple’s style and love of life.

The kitchen is designed to exhibit warmth and personality that welcomes all. Color was added through rich turquoise tile laid in a playful herringbone pattern, range hood painted in white high-gloss finish with vibrant orange glass mosaic border, custom furnishings and accessories. The custom cabinetry stained in warm neutral contrast beautifully against the color tile backdrop and features a black stained display cabinet with custom lighting to display collectibles. The island adds drama through bold black and white marble-look quartz while maintain practical durability accented by simple-line pendant lighting. A custom ceiling design draws the eye up with accent lighting that adds depth and charm. A large picture window brings the outdoors in creating a sense of "openness".

Continuing the tour through our mid-century remodel… we’ve arrived in the dining room. The design features the client’s mother’s mid-century modern antique dining room table, chairs, and hutch. These heirloom pieces provided the design inspiration for the entire house!

“Wood was an important element in this kitchen, where the coffee bar’s foundation - a treasured family heirloom - combines with stained cherry cabinetry to add warmth. Around the kitchen’s perimeter, open cabinets are backed with linear, organic tile comprised of metal and multi-colored wood to create a backdrop for displaying the client’s cherished pottery. At the island, wood combines with glass and iron to form vertical and horizontal shelving that provides easy access to additional pottery pieces and coffee mugs. The iron’s raw finish softens the harshness of the metal and makes it feel more organic.”
