Scroll through these picture to see the work of Susan Madacsi (Boise, ID) . We worked with her to complete this piece located in Cypress, TX. This piece, made with painted hand-forged steel, is based on the route of the Cypress Creek that runs nearby our project. See the last photos to understand how well this pattern is integrated into the space of this dining room. This is what happens when good designers and good artists collaborate. Thank you 💕

We had a great time at the Professional Women of Influence "PWI" Alphabet Soup Panel. This panel covered details that are often treated as add-ons in the built environment, but are really key for interacting with a built space. We discussed art consulting, and other panelists talked about flooring, furniture and signage. It was so interesting and informative! Thank you to all on the PWI team for asking us to participate and to the other panelists.

Also, shout out to host .tyler_furniture for their fantastic kitty condos for neighborhood felines.

Check out these new works we just got in from artist Mary Beth Woiccak . Mary Beth’s work is inspired by the natural world—big and small, alive and dead, tangible and ethereal. The organic forms, shadows, and shapes that are innate on rocks and in landscapes are all part of the visual language she documents. Her vivid colors and bold paint strokes give her work energy and life. We are so happy to be working with her.

This install involved a swing stage that was hoisted up 4-stories and could move forward, not back. 😀 It took us one week and it turned out great thanks to all parties, including the artist , the designers , and the clients and,of course, us. Emergency departments are areas of high traffic and high stress. For Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital we selected an original focal piece by artist , which uses a gradient effect that ties in colors from the furniture. Giclees (or reproductions) in this area are printed on or framed behind acrylic. This both protects the image and is practical for cleanability. And, of course, the imagery needs to be suitable for this specific environment. Soft abstracts with natural colors and biophilic references are proven to sooth tensions and calm nerves.

The Sky Plaza Mobile at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital is a monumental kinetic installation that transforms the vast vertical space of the Sky Plaza on the building’s third floor. The work, by out of Oregon, is composed of nine sculptural elements, each ranging from 10 to 30 feet in length, the work cascades through four stories of open space. Suspended from the sky light above, the mobile’s curves and subtle twirling motion brings lightness and movement to the architectural environment, creating a dynamic yet calming presence in the heart of the hospital.

Hospitals are not just centers for patient care, they are also dynamic business hubs. The artwork in these spaces often reflects a more corporate aesthetic, blending sophistication with purpose. At Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital, the art chosen for these administrative areas is both elegant and minimal reinforcing the weight of the decisions made while acknowledging the hospital's deep responsibility to the community it serves. With just two carefully selected original pieces, a sculptural work by Kerry Vesper and a painting by Linc Thelen, this sense of stewardship is thoughtfully conveyed and creates an atmosphere that is both elevated and intentional.

While in Austin for the I made a studio stop over at and visited with . She hosted me for over an hour as we discussed her graceful and earthy works that are painted with soils from around the world and natural dyes. We brainstormed ideas and traded stories about our adventures. Thank you, Heidi!
