The best projects usually start with a customer saying, “I’ve always hated this.”
We sanded and refinished all of the hardwood in the home and replaced the kitchen tile, but the homeowners wanted to keep the tile in the entry — just not the old inlay. We suggested reintroducing the wood with a custom herringbone feature to tie into the surrounding floors.
Since the space was small, we planned an 18” herringbone, but after mocking it up we realized bumping it to 18.5” made the pattern land perfectly with no awkward cuts. Those little details make all the difference.
Still needs its final coat of finish, but I think we nailed it. What do y’all think?
