Our liturgical calendar is printed on a soft linen/cotton canvas that makes a great tea towel, perfectly sized to wrap a 9” diameter loaf of holy bread. I took my 2025 calendar right off the wall to wrap one of these loaves 😁

This summer I spent all of my random time stitching these coasters…watching tv, going on a road trip, hanging out with friends, etc. I kept the kit in the zipper bag and stuffed it in my purse so I always had a quick bit of handwork to do if I felt the need. It’s very simple counted cross stitch so I only had to check the pattern at the beginning of each one, then it was easily memorized. So I put together kits for you to try it, too!

One of the things our Liturgical Colors Calendar is good for is the atrium. The rubrics for our calendar are from the American Antiochian Archdiocese, but it is very similar to any Orthodox Church on the new calendar. The calendar helps the children (and catechists!) see the rhythm of the colors through the year, and is a handy reference for any color changes that need to be made in the classroom. A hop, a skip, and a jump! When I started designing fabric 9 years ago, one of my biggest inspirations was the geometric cross patterns found in icons of the Early Church Fathers, also called the Holy Hierarchs. The patterns were painted on wood to represent fabric, so I brought them to life as fabric. Then it was an easy hop to make these patterns into quilts, and then a jump to make them into cross stitch! You’ll find a small selection of fabric, quilt patterns, and cross stitch kits in our Boutique. I have found over 30 geometric patterns so it will be some time until they are all available!

It’s August?!?
