From the time I was in high school, I loved to decorate. I always bought used furniture or accedpted hand-me downs out of necessity in my younger days. Before I knew it, it was out with the new and in with the old. I no longer liked new furniture and that is how Chic it Simple was developed. I am a floral designer/manager for Pappas Restaurants by day and on the weekends and nights I like to work

on furniture. This is truly a passion for me. I appreciate you taking the time to look at my page and I hope you like what you see.

Okay y’all… apparently quitting my W2 job at 57 and starting a whole new design business wasn’t quite enough excitement for me. So yep… I applied for a home & decor design mentorship with Nate Berkus! This opportunity would be HUGE for me, and I figured if I’m going to take a chance on myself, I might as well go ALL IN.

And that’s where my Kiki Crew comes in! 💕

So yep… I applied for a home & decor design competition! 😳

This opportunity would be HUGE for me, and I figured if I’m going to take a chance on myself, I might as well go ALL IN.

SHOULD I KIKI IT?!

I just found this gorgeous vintage secretary and immediately saw the potential.

The first photo is the actual piece I found. The second is my inspiration…and now I’m dying to give this beauty a bold, colorful makeover!

I’m thinking a fabulous statement color, updated hardware and all the personality. And here’s the fun part — she doesn’t have an owner yet.

So before I get started…is anyone interested in claiming her and choosing the color?

She can be customized just for you, and YES, I can ship nationwide!
