⭐✨ I'm Planning Something Fun... ✨⭐

If you've been looking for an excuse to dig through your stash and show off those adorable fabrics you've been saving, this might be it.

I'm working on the details for a Sew Mine Fussy-Cut Sawtooth Star Block Swap and I'm getting pretty excited about it.

Think:
⭐ Cute fussy-cut centers
⭐ Beautiful modern fabrics
⭐ A collection of unique stars made by fellow quilters
⭐ A little happy mail in your mailbox
⭐ A quilt full of fabrics and prints you might never have found on your own

The goal is simple: create a beautiful sawtooth star featuring a fussy-cut center, swap with fellow quilters, and end up with a one-of-a-kind collection of stars ready to become a truly special quilt.

I'm still ironing out the details, but start keeping an eye out for those fabrics with the foxes, flowers, bees, birds, mushrooms, cats, holiday prints, and all the little motifs that deserve center stage.

And here's my unofficial rule:

✨ If it's so cute you don't want to cut it... that's probably exactly the fabric we're looking for. ✨

I have a feeling this is going to be one of those projects that makes you smile every time you pull a new star out of the mailbox. 🧵💛

📺 On This Episode of “What Is This?” 🤔

This little pink bottle may look like fancy water, room spray, perfume, or maybe even something you’d find in a teenager’s purse…

I carry several different scents, but Celebration is my personal favorite and my go-to. It smells so good that people are always asking why my quilts smell amazing!

Today’s mystery item: The Fat Quarter!

Nope, it’s not a diet plan.
Nope, it’s not 25 cents worth of fabric.
And no, nobody knows why it’s called a fat quarter the first time they hear it. 😂

A fat quarter is a piece of fabric that’s approximately 18” x 21”. It’s made by cutting a half-yard of fabric in half, giving you a shorter but wider piece than a traditional quarter-yard cut.

Why am I so excited to talk about fat quarters today? Because over the next few weeks, I’ll be getting in a TON of new fat quarter patterns from both Moda and Art Gallery Fabrics! 🎉

Some days I just sit back and think about how incredibly lucky I am.

When I opened Sew Mine, I hoped people would come shop. What I never expected was the friendships, conversations, laughter, encouragement, and kindness that would come with it.

Today we have… this colorful fluffy box of happiness. 🌈

And if you’re standing in the shop wondering, “Okay… but what IS this?” 😂

This is a wool bundle made up of colorful wool roving.

What do you do with it?

🪡 Needle felting
🐑 Wool sculptures
🧶 Fiber art projects

Basically, you take a special felting needle, poke the wool approximately 47,000 times (give or take 😆), and somehow it magically turns into adorable creations.

And let’s be honest… half the reason people buy these is because the colors are so pretty they’re impossible to walk past.

No, it’s not stuffing.
And yes, it is as soft as it looks.
