You know that feeling right before something big?
An hour before my presentation today, I felt it. That nervousness creeping in. I was about to speak to 35+ entrepreneurs about my candle line, our environmental focus, and why self-care matters globally. Everything I've been building was about to be on display.
I'm a woman of faith. I believe in walking in purpose over fear. But I'm also human, and those feelings? They were real.
My husband was at work. I couldn't call him. And in that moment, I needed someone who understood exactly what I was feeling.
So I texted my friend the one who's been riding with me for over 20 years. She's been an entrepreneur just as long, maybe even longer. She gets this journey in a way that only someone who's lived it can.
Simple message: "Say a prayer for me today."
She didn't just text back. She called. And it was like God laid every word I needed to hear on her heart in that exact moment. The encouragement. The reminder of why I started. The push I needed to walk into that room with confidence.
That presentation? I showed up fully. Spoke my truth. Connected with every person in that room.
This is what 20+ years of friendship looks like. Someone who knows your journey because they're walking their own. Someone who picks up the phone when you need them most. Someone who understands that faith and fear can coexist in the same moment, and that asking for support isn't weakness it's wisdom.
This business journey isn't meant to be walked alone. We all need that person who gets the real behind the highlight reel. Someone who's been in the trenches and knows what it takes.
