It's color challenge time!
The Color Club has issued a color challenge highlighting the color Aster!
I couldn't resist creating my own fun & spooky color combo in order to create with the new Spook Alley stamp and die sets.
Color Combo: Clementine, Berry Kiss, Aster, Eggplant, Tidepool, & Pebble.
This card was so fun to make! My favorite thing about it is the sky background. I softly ink blended Clementine, Berry Kiss, Aster & Eggplant, creating a fun glow behind the haunted house. After it was all blended, I splattered it with some water, Dr. Ph Martin's bleed proof white, & Tim Holtz Distress Mica Stains in: Hocus Pocus, Harvest Moon, Iron Gate, Empty Tomb and Unravelled.
The hill is tidepool, shaded with rainforest. The trees are from the "In the Park" accordian die set from this year's winter retreat. I cut out the walkway leading to the house by hand and shaded that with cobblestone ink.
And I had so much fun putting together the cute little trick-or-treaters!
I can't wait for the next challenge!

The last of the day and of the whole event was for Doodlebug!
I was introduced to our instructor for the first time with this class, and I absolutely fell in love with her and her fun personality! She is so energetic & spunky. I just had a blast in her class!

We had so much fun making a couple of Christmas cards and one birthday card. The die set we used has a bunch of shapes that you can mix and match to create any number of ornaments(or flowers), plus a tiny bow and the words happy & holidays.

Of course, I didn't follow her exactly. I made my cards just a tiny bit different; using different patterned paper for some of the elements, & changing some of the colors.
I kept the layout the same, though.

I loved this class, and it was the best way to close out the event other than hearing the closing remarks from Catherine and saying goodbye to everyone.
And that is a wrap for the SCT Crop & Create cardmaking event in October of 2021!

We are winding down on the fall 2021 Crop & Create card making event. Only two classes left.

This class was for Pinkfresh Studio and was taught by Lea Lawson.
It was a really fun and informative class, Lea gave us some great tips.
It was also my first time making Slimeline cards!
All three of these cards were made with only stencils and dies-no stamping at all!
This class also introduced me to layering stencils.

I love these three cards, I think they turned out so pretty!

In the last post, we ended day two of the Crop & Create card event in the fall of 2021.
We are now starting on day 3-(the last day of the event).

After a "good morning" from Catherine & some prize giveaways, we started off classes with Cathy Z representing Concord & 9th!

We had so much fun! It was a great way to start the day. We made 3 pretty clean and simple cards.

We learned how to use a layering stamp for two of the cards, and on the 3rd card, we did some die-cut inlay. (A technique I enjoy, I find it very therapeutic).

I made my cards pretty much the same as Cathy, but of course, I did some shading around the edges.

I was pleased at how my cards turned out and always had a great time with Cathy Z!

Good evening. Tonight's post will finish off the projects that we made on Saturday of the fall 2021 Crop & Create event.
After the 3rd class with Lawn Fawn and a small 30-minute break, we had one hour with Jennifer McGuire. She shared with us some great ideas on using a wonderful stamp set from Hero Arts. It has a whole bunch of words & phrases that you can mix and match to create fun and unique thank you cards. (It also has some fun border stamps and simple shapes to go with your sentiments)
These are a couple of cards I made using the stamp set, some paper scraps, and the layout design that Jennifer shared with us.
After Jennifer, we met back up with Catherine, our event host, for a wrap-up of the day.
Tomorrow, I will be sharing with you the cards we made in our 4th class of the event!

For this post, I will be sharing the cards we made in our 3rd class of the Crop & Create event I have been sharing with you.
This class was with Lawn Fawn and taught by Jenn Shurkus! I had never taken a class from her before and it was so fun! She is so cute and bubbly, with a sweet personality and a joy to create with.
We had a blast using our inks to watercolor! We had fun with a couple of stencils as well, and of course, we glittered all the things!!
My cards, for the most part, look just like hers other than I heat embossed some of my sentiments with silver embossing powder (which didn't photograph well but look pretty in real life) and the second card with the big snowflake I used a glitter paste with the stencil instead of the stickles that she used.

Hello, I hope you are all having a wonderful day!
After my previous post, I realized that I forgot to share about a mini-class that we had between the Gina K class and The Stamp Market class.
This mini-class was with Mari Clarke representing Honey Bee Stamps. I was introduced to Mari Clarke for the first time with this class. I didn't have hardly any Honey Bee products before this either. Mari is such a joy. Her teaching style is so relaxing, and I really enjoyed making these two cards.
Honey Bee provided each of us with a cute little mini-stamp set with coordinating dies in our event kit. I followed Mari's instructions but, of course, made some changes to make them more my style.
I colored the images as close to the colors she used using some alcohol markers and Prismacolor pencils, adding in some shading.
I also used a cloud stencil on the first card to add some soft clouds in the background to complete the scene. With the second card, I changed my background to a fun Honeycomb pattern using a stencil instead of doing the paint smooshing technique that Mari did. (I got a little heavy-handed with the ink. It would look so much better if the Honeycomb pattern was a lighter shade).

I'm still here! It's been a while since my last post, and I have so much to share with you!

Let's get started by going back to the fall of 2021. I participated in the SCT Crop & Create event and had so much fun!

In my last post about this event, I shared the cards from the class with Gina K. The 2nd class of the day was with The Stamp Market! This class was my first introduction to the company, and I immediately fell in love with Amy and her creative style!

Don't you just love these cards! Amy's class was so fun she taught us repeat stamping, stenciling, and using strips of paper to emphasize the sentiment and create focal points on our cards.

I made the cards following her instructions. The only big changes I made are on the first two cards. I used a more muted fall color palette instead of the brighter rainbow palette that she used. I added some shading to the hearts on card 3 as well.
