Hello, traveler! I’m Brittany 🧶
Wife, mom to a teenage son, and full-time maker of cozy things. I live somewhere between cottagecore daydreams, a love of Science fiction, and a very serious appreciation for excellent yarn.
I first picked up knitting while on bed rest after multiple brain and spine surgeries…under doctor’s orders, no less. (Knitting works both sides of the brain, and I took that as official permission to buy far too much yarn. It was doctor approved crafting.) What began as something to pass the time turned into a deep love for fiber, texture, and making useful, beautiful things by hand.
I work primarily with high-quality, hand-dyed merino wool. Honestly, which still surprises me, since I’m allergic to regular wool and never thought I’d be someone who wears it daily. These days I make cozy hats and headbands, cotton summer accessories, washcloths, and my most mischievous creations of all: crocheted pickles 🥒
They wear costumes. They have personalities. Some of them attend the Ohio Renaissance Festival.
You can find all of my work at my sister’s wonderful shop, Green Feather Apothecary in Waynesville, Ohio. It’s a true family operation where my sister, dad, and nephew all work together. The shop is filled with hand-blended and rare teas, coffees, herbal tinctures and remedies, natural soaps and body products, seasonings, local honey, candles, handmade jewelry, dice sets, and other thoughtfully chosen goods that make everyday life a little more cozy.
I care deeply about creating well made, long-lasting pieces, sourcing the best yarns I can find, and keeping prices fair and accessible . They’re often far less than similar handmade items you’ll find online.
Shopping with me supports a real family, a small business, and allows me to keep creating after becoming disabled…something I’m deeply thankful for. I’m just glad to be here, doing work I love, and sharing it with you.
Thanks for stopping by our little corner of handmade coziness 🧶
