Remember the excitement of earning a personal pan pizza for reading books as a kid? Our owner Katie sure does — and that beloved reading program inspired our newest summer challenge:

Books for Fabric!
While we can’t promise pizza, we can reward your reading habit with fabric money. 😉
Here’s How It Works:
📚 Pick up a reading log in-store or download one online (under “blog” on our website)
📚 Track the books you read and turn in your completed log by July 1st
📚 For every 5 books read, you’ll earn a $5 gift card — up to $25 total
📚 Every participant will also be entered to win a grand prize, which we’ll draw on July 2nd
We’d also love for you to leave little comments or ratings on your log! At the end of the challenge, we’ll compile a list of the most-loved and highly rated books from our community.
This challenge is open to everyone and there’s no purchase necessary to participate. We’re running this on the honor system, so please keep it fun and fair by only logging books you’ve actually read.

Small Business Week Part 4 /// One of the main reasons I opened the Three Little Birds is because I really was wanted to create a community of makers and to connect with my neighbors. I am forever grateful for all those that have become part of the Three Little Birds community and continuing to foster this community is extremely important to us.

If you’re looking for a place to connect with other makers, we offer a weekly Sewcial in which you can rent a sewing machine or use our cutting tables & irons. The fee is $5 and requires a reservation. At the same time, hosts a Maker’s night for knitters, crocheters, or any other type of handcraft. This meetup is free to attend from 6:30-9pm every Wednesday night. The store is also open until 9pm on Wednesdays!

Small Business Week Con’t// In addition to classes, we also love to host different community events. A few weeks ago, we hosted the opening of our Mini Quilt Show in our classroom. We hosted this show a few times a year and every time there is a different prompt. This round, participants picked up a swatch of the same color fabric and had to incorporate it into their quilt in whatever manner they wanted. Anyone can participate in these challenges and it’s also fun to see the creativity in the mini quilts!

The show is still hanging up in our classroom and all are welcome to come view the quilts during our open store hours!

Good morning! I’m excited to be collaborating with today for National Small Business Week. We have been in Hyattsville for just over 10 years. We are a fabric store and sewing studio that offers sewing classes & workshops. We also carry lots of other craft goodies — embroidery kits, supplies, and gifts.
