“Can you get me new furniture before the holidays?” (A common question asked to us in September and October).

Short answer…no. Obviously I wish we could. In this global market it’s tough unless you have a lot of furniture at your fingertips. Honestly, it takes time to bring you in as a client, create a beautiful curated space, place orders, and wait for the arrival. Good design takes time. Let’s not rush it.

That doesn’t mean we don’t want to work with you. Just trust our process and know that good things are worth the wait. We may be your fairy godmothers but unfortunately we aren’t magic. 😂

Plan first. Build second. We believe in front loading as many design decisions as possible. Why? Because they are more expensive to make when you are in the middle of construction. A line on a piece of paper costs nothing in the grand scheme. So please, PLEASE, don’t wait to start design til after you started construction. Plan it out first with a trusted design team who has your back.

Can you just refinish your cabinets? It all depends. 😅

Is it worth saving them? Does your kitchen layout actually work? Do you need more storage? Are they in good condition?

If we determine it is then we go down the route of what finish do you want. We rarely can go lighter unless you paint. Only certain companies will actually bid it out. We have found most cabinet shops will charge as much for new cabinets. So why go through the effort when you can get the kitchen of your dreams.

This is a yes and no answer. Most design questions are. We live in a world when there are too many variables to give you clear cut answers to everything. That’s why our clients hire us. Less googling. Fewer rabbit holes. Better decisions by working with people who have already explored those avenues.

Wood or LVP flooring? Which do you choose?

If you live in Idaho and are one of our clients you have heard this over and over again. Idaho doesn’t love wood. It moves so much in our homes as temperature and humidity change throughout the year. But it’s beautiful and truly the look and feel everyone wants.

The alternative is LVP (or luxury vinyl plank). We have seen it become super popular over the last decade because of its easy maintenance, water resistance, and beautiful colors and textures.

There are inherent pros and cons of each. We can help guide you to make the right flooring decision for your home and lifestyle. This is what we do throughout the whole design process from flooring and finishes, to layout, to final fixtures and furniture.
