Skydance - Jupiter chases Venus. I am always happy to see that my little Nikon P950 camera can take pictures of the stars and planets. A little hazy but I can see moons of Jupiter on left, Venus in middle, and even the faint trail of a meteor on upper right. August 11, 2025. Reno, NV. Processed with Adobe Lightroom.

Haze from wildfires create a moody morning at Mono Lake in California. A high desert lake with no outlet, the water is alkaline and is home to a species of brine shrimp. Negit Island on the left, Paoha Island on right. Near Lee Vining, Calif. Good day and may God bless!

Yellow-headed Blackbird at Sparks Marina, Nevada. These birds migrate in every spring and make nests in the reeds near water. Good day and may God bless!

Sparks Marina, Nevada. These were the highlight birds of the day.
Blue-winged Teal, male and female
Yellow-headed Blackbird, male
Redhead duck male and females.
And there were also the usual Ringbill Grebe, Double Crested Cormorant, Mallards, Canada Goose and colts, American Coots.
Worth a visit to the fishing dock. I saw guys who caught two trout in 30 minutes. It was a good day!

We drove to Pyramid Lake which is an ancient natural lake in the desert northeast of Reno. The Truckee River runs from Lake Tahoe and ends at this lake. The lake gets its name from the pyramid shaped rock formation seen on the left side of the photo. Anahoe Island is in the center of this picture. Many species of birds use the island for nesting. Today was cloudy and rainy providing an interesting backdrop on the surrounding hills.

Pink Moon (April Full Moon)

When I tried to take a picture of the Full Moon last night it was too cloudy. This morning the Moon was already below the treetops. So you take what you get.
