Cajun Shrimp Pasta
Just whipped up this Cajun Shrimp Pasta for dinner and it's a game changer! Spicy, creamy, and oh-so-satisfying. 🍤🔥🍝
_____Ingredients:_____
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
_____Directions:_____
1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, drain, and set aside.
2. Season the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning.
3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink and are cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 2 minutes.
5. Add the heavy cream, chicken broth, remaining Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
7. Return the shrimp to the skillet and add the cooked pasta. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
8. Serve garnished with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
