So why do we bring houseplants to the Farmers Market? To pay for our gardening habit of course! We are a real urban farm. On our half acre property we have, 2 types cherry, apple, peach, mulberry trees black and white. Blackberries, Blueberries, Raspberries red and golden, Rhubarb and Strawberries! We grow just enough to feed our family, kids, and grandkids. My daughter Whitney and I work fulltime jobs so time is definitely against us. This year I'm excited to grow zucchini, yellow squash, Hubbard squash, peppers 10 varieties, tomatoes 20 varieties, eggplant. Watermelon, canteloupe. This week I picked 4 quarts of cherries and mulberries. I didnt even make a dent. I freeze the mulberries immediately. We will use these in smoothies and fruit breads or muffins. Cherries are the tart variety that I will turn into pie filling. We do pints instead of quarts. You can use over icecream or shortcake in the summer.
