🌈 Good Morning Everyone! 🌈
I wanted to share a little about my Pride event experience this weekend.
This was my second year participating, and just like last year, I had an amazing time. My booth location was great, the crowd was friendly, welcoming, and full of positive energy. But whew… when I say the heat and wind were no joke, they were NO JOKE! The wind kept knocking things over, and by the end of the day, I was completely worn out.
One thing I always forget to mention is how much work it is doing vendor events by yourself. Between multiple tables, chairs, totes full of products, shelving, displays, a wagon, and a tent, it’s a lot. Setting up is one thing, but breaking everything down after standing in the heat all day is a whole different challenge.
I want to give a huge thank you to the volunteers and the vendors around me. One volunteer helped watch my booth while I borrowed a chair because I accidentally left mine at home. Another volunteer checked on me throughout the day. And the vendor next to me went above and beyond by helping me finish breaking down and loading my car. They spent the last 20 minutes helping me get everything packed before the storm rolled in.
Honestly, if they hadn’t helped me, I probably would have been there another hour.
I also want to give a special shoutout to the ladies in the booth next to me who were selling flavored lemonades and teas from Lemon Fixx. Throughout the day, I was able to slide over there a few times and grab a drink, and they even gave me free ice to help me stay hydrated in that heat. Y’all have no idea how much I appreciated that. Thank you, ladies! ❤️
Last year, a kind woman helped me load my wagon and get my items to my car. This year, another kind soul stepped in when I needed it most. Those moments mean more than people realize. By the end of the event, I was hot, sweaty, hungry, exhausted, and desperately needed a restroom break. I had been running on a Starbucks refresher, a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant, and an electrolyte drink all day.
Then came my hero of the day—a pizza vendor walking around with extra pizzas. When he said $10 for a whole large pizza, I was like, “YES PLEASE!” 😂
By the time I got everything loaded, I was so tired that I grabbed a slice and ate it while heading to the highway trying to beat the storm. That’s how hungry I was! Once I got home, I showered and completely passed out.
What I love most about this event is the people. I’ve stopped doing some vendor events because doing them alone can be overwhelming, and not every event has people willing to lend a hand. But every time I’ve done Pride, there has always been someone willing to help, encourage, or simply check in on me.
And one of my favorite parts is when people stop by and tell me they remember me from the year before and still have items they purchased from me. Those conversations make all the hard work worth it.
So to everyone who volunteered, stopped by my booth, made a purchase, checked on me, kept me hydrated, shared a kind word, or helped me pack up—THANK YOU. You made a long, exhausting day so much easier.
I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the 2027 event. Yes, it wears me out every year, but the community, connections, and kindness make it all worthwhile. ❤️🏳️🌈
Thank you for letting me share my experience. 🌈🏳️🌈❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤎
