Here is a fired sample of my new pattern, Fleur-de-lis. It's blue as I had a Cool Blue run to do. I have shipped one to the artist who gave me the suggestion in my Irish Green color.

Two new fired patterns from suggestions from the Glass bead Expo. The dragon is from my first mask, made a second mask to get the antennas more visable. I had an existing turtle patter but some asked just for an outline so they cen add their ideas.

A suggestion from the 2026 Glass bead Expo for a shadow of my turtles pattern so the artist could add their own touches. Here is the first two runs. I made 2 .030 thick masks to illustrate a point about edge effects with a mask. The one on the left is a single .030 thick mask, Irish green. The next run I doubled the mask thickness to .060 for the one on the right side, Irish green. Both are unfired in this picture. You can see the thicker mask changed the color spread on the outside edges.
I lot of masking/pattern questions, next year I will bring some masks/tooling to help people understand what happens.

I received a more than few pattern suggestions at the 2026 Glass bead expo, along with a very bad cold. The first one I took on was to use my dragon fly mask that I used to make my giveaway 40 mm Cabochons. The first pictures show the first run, but I will have to go back and increase the size of the antennas as the didn’t come through when I ran the red color.
My turtles were a big hit at the show sold out all I brought but one artist asked for just a turtle outline so she could do some things to add her style. The other mask I just finshed was for the the Fleur-de-lis pattern. I was reminded it was asked for at the last expo 2025 and I forgot to get it done. Well here it is. I will be running both patterns latter in the week with Irish Green as the color. Stay tuned for those pictures.

I asked for suggestion for new patterns at last years show, 2025. During the year I did some of those patterns and made a 2025 pattern sheet. To say Thanks I have cut up at least 10 sheets of coe90 and 96 and will have them on the tables for anyone to come by and pick up some samples to fire. They are mostly cut up into about 3/4", individuals that is. That was a lot of scribing, if that is not a labor of love, I don't know what is! Booth 1215, next to Evenheat.

I was able to get some kiln time the last few days to run my new Eye of Horus pattern. I made the pattern in three different sizes to look at the color shift. The photo is from a Red run #466. It is a bit heavy ( IE more to the infrared part of the spectrum, non visible to the human eye.) but fires quite nicely. The large pattern is about 3” across the width. Now on the mask I shrink the smaller upper images down to about 3/4” ( More to the size for jewelry cabs.) You can see the problem of using a mechanical mask as when you shrink it down all the opening drop in /width restricting/ reducing the amount of deposition through the mask in different areas, hence the color shift down the spectrum ( towards blue), in the smaller mask opening areas.

( With the dichroic on black if you use the enlarge function you get a nice look at what the dichroic looks like after firing. COE 96 glass)
