A gentle reminder when ordering flowers online…
This past weekend, we helped a family who found themselves in a stressful situation. Flowers had been ordered online for a Sunday funeral, but late Friday night the order was unexpectedly cancelled.
Thankfully, our team was able to step in, design the pieces, and get them delivered before the service.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time we've encountered this. We are sharing this to help families avoid added stress during an already difficult time.
When ordering flowers online, especially for a funeral, please make sure you are ordering from a local florist.
A few simple ways to check:
• Look for a real local street address - if their corporate office is in Delaware, they are probably not a local florist.
• Call the shop directly - if they don't have a local phone number, it may suggest they are not a local florist.
• Ask, “Are you physically located in the area where the flowers are being delivered?”
• Be cautious with sponsored ads that appear at the top of search results.
• Make sure the florist designing the flowers is the one receiving your order.
It's easy to get confused. Many online flower websites are made to LOOK local, but some are actually third-party companies that take the order first and then try to find a local florist to fill it. If they cannot find someone to accept the order, the customer may not find out until it is too late.
For sympathy and memorial flowers, timing matters. Details matter. Trust matters.
At Flowers On The Move, we are truly local, and every sympathy arrangement is handled with care, respect, and personal attention.
We are not warning you because we want every order. There a quiet a few good florists in our area that able to help you. We are warning you because some occasions are too important for families to be left scrambling.
When it matters most, call your local florist directly.
