I’m thinking about adding a Giant Quilted Bow Workshop to the Coastal Sewing Academy schedule, and I want to see who would be interested before I put it on the calendar! I’ve been asked to do this class and wanted to put it out there!

These oversized bows would be so much fun to make and can be completely customized to your style:

🍂 Fall — plaids, pumpkins, warm neutrals & autumn colors
🎄 Christmas — traditional reds & greens, vintage Christmas, candy-cane colors, elegant neutrals…
🏡 Everyday — farmhouse, coastal, florals, patriotic, school colors, or whatever fits YOUR home!

Hang it on your front door, wall, mantel, porch, or anywhere you need a big statement piece. And because you choose the fabrics, no two bows have to look alike. ❤️

had a great class today for our Sewing class! Today they learned about Half Square Triangles and how to piece together squares to make a Table Runner! I love every bit of this! Great job today guys!🩷💙

☀️Good Morning friends!!! What are y’all working on? My quilty friends? This is what I’m working on, it’s blocks were made by some friends who are in a Quilt Bee that I’m part of! I can’t wait to finish it. I should have some more blocks coming then I need to decide if I’m doing sashing in between or not! I’m thinking it would look good to break them up! Thoughts?

🧵✨ WOULD YOU COME TO AN OPEN SEW DAY? ✨🧵

I’m tossing around an idea and want to see who would actually be interested before I start making plans!

I would LOVE to put together a relaxed Open Sew Day — several uninterrupted hours to bring your sewing machine, grab that UFO (unfinished project 👀), and actually have time to WORK ON IT.

No formal lesson. No assigned project. Just bring whatever you’re working on and sew alongside other creative people. 💙

I’m picturing something like:

🧵 Saturday, around 10:00–3:00
✂️ Bring your own machine + whatever project you want to work on
🔥 Cutting and pressing stations provided
🙋‍♀️ I’ll be there if you get stuck or need a little help
🥪 Break for lunch — bring your own or we can order together
☕ Five hours to sew, chat, laugh, get inspired…and hopefully go home with something FINISHED! 😂

Basically a little mini sewing retreat without having to go away for the weekend.

I’m hoping to keep the cost around $45–$50 per person for the full five-hour day, depending on the location I’m able to secure.

Right now I’m just gauging interest and trying to find a space that gives us plenty of room to spread out comfortably.

So I need to know…

Today in Homeschool Sewing Academy, our students learned the quilt-as-you-go technique! 🧵✨ They layered, pieced, and quilted their fabric all at the same time while preparing to create mug rugs. I love watching their confidence grow with every new skill—and seeing their creativity come to life!
