Just a bit of exciting news (for me anyway)… I’ve put a deposit on a new (to me) Gammill!!! I just can’t stay away from quilting and can’t give my tops away to be quilted by someone else 😜

It should be here before the end of August (Jacksonville home). Woohoo!!!

So excited for Laurie’s segment on HGTV’s ”Fixer to Fabulous”! The show will air again Saturday evening at 9:00 CST. It’s also showing “On Demand.” I’ve included a bit more information below.

Bentonville’s own Laurie McCracken of Laurie’s Longarm Quilting & More appeared on HGTV’s hit show “Fixer to Fabulous,” Tuesday evening, January 4th. The episode
(season 3, #8) is titled “Boring Rancher to Beautiful Bungalow.”

The producer contacted Laurie last summer about being on the fall program schedule, explaining that they’d seen the shop on the Internet and thought it adorable! Jenny and the crew filmed the episode at Laurie’s shop in mid-August. Upon leaving that afternoon, the crew asked that nothing be said until the show aired.

The segment features host Jenny Marrs, stopping by the shop, asking Laurie to make a surprise wall piece for a family whose home Jenny and company were renovating in Bentonville. Jenny provided the size, idea for the quilt-top design, and color choices. The finished quilt was to depict colors from flags of countries traveled by the owners.

The photo shows the completed project. Jenny then framed and hung the quilt as part of the renovation.

Those who are familiar with Laurie know well her creative endeavors. In this case, Laurie as a “fixer” of fabric created a quilt art piece that will forever spark “fabulous” memories for one lucky Bentonville family!

HGTV's hit show "Fixer to Fabulous" renovated a Bentonville home for the Lennard family. The episode titled "Boring Rancher to Beautiful Bungalow" aired for the first time January 4! Laurie was contacted by a producer of the show last summer about making a quilt for the Lennard home. Jenny Marrs and her crew arrived on an August Friday to "discuss" the scene and before you could say "Quilt," they were filming! Jenny explained her idea for a wall hanging, using the colors from flags of countries the family had visited.
