It’s a Hard hat and BBQ kind of day👷🔥

Today took me to Lexington, NC to measure for a commercial project on an active construction site. Safety vest, hard hat, steel toe boots and tape measure — we do what the job requires😊

But I have roots in Lexington, so I couldn’t leave without stopping at Honeymonks — otherwise know as Lexington Barbecue. I grew up coming here and haven’t been in years.
The owner, Rick Monk, son of the original “Honeymonk” was behind the counter. He teased the regulars, welcomed the strangers, and made every single person feel like a local. People drive from all over the state and country to visit…for the hospitality and the amazing BBQ, slaw and hushpuppies!

I sat at the counter and had a great conversation with him. He shared a few things that have stayed with me:

✨Do what you love

Simple. Honest. True.

Grateful for days like this. 🙏
