When you think of a traditional Kentucky woodshop, high-tech 3D printers usually don't come to mind. But at Open Grain, true craftsmanship means being willing to look way beyond the grain. 🪵✨
We recently had the incredible opportunity to step outside our usual comfort zone and partner with our talented neighbors at Nimlok Kentucky to help bring a new local landmark to life: the Four Roses Visitors Center Monument Sign! 🌹
While Nimlok masterfully engineered the grand outdoor structure, they tapped our team to bring the iconic Four Roses dimensional emblem to life. Here is a quick look behind the workshop doors:
Trading Chisels for Tech: We fired up our Creality K2 3D printer to capture the organic, delicate curves of the famous floral relief.
Patience in Every Petal: To ensure flawless detail, each individual rose required a staggering 10 hours of continuous print time.
Built for Kentucky Weather: Our craftsmen hand-finished and sealed every piece with a specialized, multi-layered paint coating to guarantee they withstand hot summers and freezing winters alike.
We are incredibly proud to have our high-precision work greeting bourbon lovers from all over the world.
