After waiting months my lathe bed extension finally came a couple days ago. Go it installed today. Was easy. Just 2 bolts to attach to the base lathe and a couple small bolts for mounting and securing the end legs. Now I can turn spindles up to about 38inches long! Going to be having some fun with this and making lots 'O crafts!. 👍

Thanks to all my subscribers who have believed in me and have morally supported me in this adventure. I have made many friends on this journey, and I expect to be making more in the future. Thanks!!

WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING LATELY.
I was slowed down a lot since COVID came on the scene in 2020.
Craft shows were non-existent in 2020. 2021, was very slow as people were afraid to go out. 2022 was quite slow. Many Craft Show vendors reported that people were coming out, but didn’t buy very much. A lot of disposable income was reduced by oil prices and how that trickled thru the markets, and consequential inflation at the grocery store. Many vendors reported losing money at the shows in 2022.

So, I slowed down as Sales did. Now for 2023 things are looking up.
In late 2022 oil prices dropped and so did other market prices.
In 2023 we are expecting an increase in Craft Shows again and more disposable income as the economy gets back to almost normal of what 2019 was. Once prices go up, they never get back to exactly what they were.

That COVID gave some businesses opportunity to gouge customers on necessities of life. That’s what I call Pirating your customer. Not good.

During 2020 thru 2022 I sat back and watched the market.

In 2023 I will be getting back into Craft Sales again, and adding new products. I'll also start making videos in 4K format as I can.

Today I scored a Walnut slab.

8 ft 8-1/2inches long, 12 inches wide at its widest, 9 inches wide at narrowest, 2 inches thick.

I figure I can harvest 70% of it into usuable boards, The rest will be usabe off-cuts.

It is a little over 15 board feet. Once it is milled ( I have the tools to do that) Black Walnut market price is $12/board foot. So that's a value of $180. I paid $25 for it. Good deal! Granted, I have some work to do, but that is a part of the fun. 😀

I'll make a lot of crafts out of this.

New YouTube Video! Installing a 6" Riser Block on my Porter*Cable 14" Bandsaw. Now I can slice up logs up to 12" diamenter into planks / boards for crafts. Gotta love free wood when you can get it, especially at today's prices. I'll mill my own, on a small scale.
