In January 2023 I made the decision to move Internode to downtown Joliet. The city was talking about building a City Square, but nothing had been finalized. Little did I know that six months later, our sidewalks would be destroyed, 10 foot deep holes would be dug and this would be the beginning of 2 1/2 years of construction right outside our front door.

We’ve been through it all - jackhammers breaking windows, blocked and destroyed sidewalks, roads closed to all traffic, the entire building completely fenced off, and construction equipment everywhere.

But through all of this one thing has remained consistent, the dream of a better downtown, where the community can come to gather and enjoy our historic neighborhood .

The day is finally here, the new Joliet City Square is open, and we are ready to welcome visitors from all over the world!

Thank you to you all who have supported us through these tough times and to our neighbors who have been in the trenches with us. We are so grateful to still be here and can’t wait to keep building this beautiful dream.

We survived, and NOW WE THRIVE! 🪴
