Firebird, the primary suite transformation. What was once an enclosed atrium and oversized, dark bedroom with little natural light has been completely reimagined.

By reopening and restoring the original atrium, we brought daylight back into the suite and reestablished the indoor/outdoor connection central to Palm Springs modernism. The bedroom now extends into a private landscaped courtyard with seating, creating a retreat within the Firebird Estates.

Natural light now moves freely through the space, and even the shower was designed to incorporate a window overlooking lush desert plantings, transforming a once inward facing layout into an immersive experience.

While restoring openness, we were intentional about function. A dedicated exterior closet was maintained for utilities, storage, and discreet access by the property manager and cleaning team, ensuring seamless mid-term rental operations.

A space that finally feels like it was meant to all along.

Firebird — reimagined.

When we purchased this unit in 2013, the layout felt compartmentalized and closed off from the light that defines Palm Springs living.

We reconfigured the kitchen to create a semi-open floor plan — improving circulation while maintaining architectural rhythm. New exterior sliders were introduced to expand the visual boundary, strengthening the connection between interior and patio.

The result is a space that feels brighter, more fluid, and more aligned with modern day living, while honoring its mid-century roots.

Firebird Estates is in the spotlight again this weekend with ✨ This iconic Palm Springs community remains one of the desert’s true mid-century gems.

We purchased our unit here in 2013 and have since renovated it with deep respect for its modernist roots — blending restoration with modern day amenities and lifestyle.

Excited to share more of the transformation over the next few days.

With the exterior of the door trim painted, the front facade is almost there!

We can finally hang up the brushes and rollers for the exterior, just in time with the temperature dropping to freezing here in Juneau. The blue outside .alaska is looking just how we want, and not a day late. Next time you're downtown take a look and tell us what you think!

A properly designed home shouldn't have any wasted space. Wasted space turns into cluttered space; an eyesore. We make sure that every inch of every home serves the greater design both functionally and aesthetically.

We turned this junk-cupboard wall into a serving area that melds into the home and invites to be used, not ignored.

For the .alaska front door, we wanted something that was both traditional and dramatic. We went with a walnut finish and a top 3/4 glass pane, and crowning on the moulding.

Sometimes a statement piece doesn't serve the design as much as it detracts.

By moving the range and hood off the center island, this kitchen finally gets to breathe. The new open layout invites light to spill across every surface, and with sleek upgraded appliances, it’s as functional as it is fresh.
