I came across this video from a while back. That's Rick Albertson who was pretty much the inspiration for the start of our clinics. Great guy with a great attitude.

Village Home Bhasan Char Project

12/25/2025

On August 3, 2015, Village Home started a vocational training program at our Shahjadpur Jhilpar School. The program involved training women to properly use a sewing machine for self-employment (keeping machines after training) as well as working in the garment industry. This program has continued and remains among our most successful.

Recently Village Home was approached to submit a proposal related to working with Rohingya refugees on Bhasan Char. The submitted proposal was approved several days ago by government officials and Village Home is in the early stages of implementing the program which is expected to start operation in the spring of 2026.

Village Home is grateful for the support of the interim government and incoming politicians which are focused on the welfare of the Rohinga refugees. We are also grateful for the support that we have received from so many Bangladeshis over the 10-year period of our operation in this remarkable country.
