Susan McHenry Ceramics

Susan McHenry Ceramics Studio potter. Teacher. Writer. Once each piece begins to dry, I apply colored slips (liquid clay) with loose, uncontrolled brush strokes.

My new work is about bringing a sense of looseness to my wheel-thrown forms by stretching, pushing, and cutting the clay to create more organic forms. It's this sense of vulnerability and strength I strive to bring forth each time the clay touches my hands. My hope is that this comes through with each piece I create.
