But one project at a time, I kept saying yes to things that scared me. RTA base cabinets with added moldings so they look custom. A dog water station with its own pot filler. Pull-out inserts, a foot pull for the trash, a hidden paper towel holder, and a plaster hood I finished by hand.

And now I'm building the upper cabinets myself. If you'd told me that a few years ago, I would have laughed.

I think this might be one of my favorite things I’ve ever built.

I didn’t have plans for this hood or a tutorial to follow. I just had a vision in my head…and enough confidence to believe I could figure it out.

Learning to use the Kreg Tool joinery system and Kreg Ionic Drive Power Tools has completely changed what I believe I’m capable of building. At 53, I’m still learning new skills, trying things I’ve never done before and realizing I can create things I once would have been too intimidated to even attempt.
You don’t have to know how to build everything. Sometimes you just need a few skills you trust…and the confidence to start.

This one feels pretty special. ❤️

One of the smartest things I did during this kitchen remodel was think beyond the cabinets themselves and really consider what I wanted happening inside them.

Rev-A-Shelf has so many clever storage solutions that can take basic cabinet space and make it incredibly useful. Spices are easy to see and grab, awkward workstation sink accessories have their own dedicated spot, and my bakeware is stored vertically so I can pull out exactly what I need.

It’s the kind of functionality you don’t fully appreciate until you live with it.
