Acorns to Oak trees for short! We sell handmade toys and dolls (considered amigurumi by most of the crafting community) as well as some other craft items. Those items include but are not limited to jewelry, painting and a few other things I dabble in from time to time. The Designer:
My name is Emily James. I am the owner and primary designer at Hook in Hand designs. I am a believer in Jesus Ch
rist first and foremost. Everything that I make is made to a high standard of quality because I make my craft for His honor and glory. I am married to a fantastic man who loves the Lord. His name is Dallas and our daughter's name is Sparrow (Matthew 6:26). They are my inspiration and testers when I need them! I taught myself to crochet in August of 2011 and I have been doing it ever since! I love suggestions and I can make just about anything! If you would like to have a custom order made I usually follow this rule: If it is something I have made before give me 3-5 days to make it. If I have never made it give me 10 days. Reason being: my calendar fills up fast and I also have an eight month old! Our Products:
All of our dolls are made with acrylic yarn (unless otherwise specified) and can usually be machine washed. Every thing that we sale comes with a lifetime warranty. They will last the lifetime of the owner and then some; however, if a defect is found or accidental damage occurs I will repair or replace the item at no cost to the owner. There are some restrictions for deliberate damage (see our policies on etsy!)
Our toys are great for friends, family, kids and even the occasional treat for yourself! Wouldn't you like to adopt one today? The Shop Name:
Most people ask me, what does the name mean? Well, I look at it like this: God takes a tiny little acorn and through an unseen process he grows that acorn into one of the largest trees in the forest. God is a Creator and I think that when He made humans part of the "thumbprint" He left on us was the ability and the desire to create. When I crochet I take something tiny that is seemingly nothing (a strand of yarn) and make it into something tangible and real--something that I happen to think is pretty cool! When I create, it is almost like a form of praise to God. I'm doing exactly what he made me to do. All the "talent" that I have is His and it pales in comparison to the real ability that He has to create. I mean look at the world around you. What an artist! What an amazing opportunity to partner with Him in His "art".
