Twenty-five to thirty dips. That's what it takes to get a taper exactly right — dipped, cooled, dipped again, until the color runs true and the shape is even from tip to base. This rack is Soft Sage, one third of the Quiet Autumn trio, hand-dipped daily at our Kansas City workshop. Slow, on purpose.

Three colors, one story. Soft Sage, Highland Mist, and Espresso - chosen to sit together on the table, not stand apart. Each taper hand-dipped 25 to 30 times at our Kansas City workshop, for the slow, even burn we've spent 65 years perfecting.

This is what 65 years of craft looks like, frame by frame.

It starts with wax heated to exactly the right temperature - too cool and it won't hold, too warm and it won't set. Wicks are strung by hand, one at a time, then dipped 25 to 30 times each, building the taper layer by layer until it's smooth, even, and ready to burn clean. Once they're cool, every wick gets trimmed by hand. These tapers pass through 4-6 hands before ever leaving our Kansas City workshop.
