Please meet the new addition to the team, Joshua Donovan Smith, Chief Cuteness Officer (CCO). This role has been created just for him as he brings so much to the company with his 3.5 months of experience on earth. He’s great at:
•Getting your attention.
•Falling asleep during car rides.
•Talking and making sounds.
•Hanging out at the office while mama works.
•And being very, very cute.

We hope within the next 2 years he’ll grow into helping with samples inventory and making complete sentences.

I have a deep craving for red wine that I can’t seem to shake today. So it felt right to revisit my Wine Lounge from the 2024 Kips Bay New York Showhouse, a space designed to linger, unwind, and savor every detail.

Comment your favorite wine below, inspire me to take a trip to get a bottle (or two). 🍷

I was so wrapped up in all things baby this past November and December that I didn’t share this feature in my hometown of Montclair, New Jersey. Thank you for this feature of me and this renovation of one of Montclair’s century old homes!

Details in design always matter.

When I spotted the Naga Side Table and Stacked Horn Table Lamp by at Fall 2024 High Point Market, I knew they were destined for this space. The beautifully carved mango wood detail of the Naga paired with the sculptural strength of the lamp adds visual interest and texture—those thoughtful moments that spark conversation and the inevitable “Where did you get this?”

It’s these intentional choices that bring a space to life. ❤️

PS - Am I the only one obsessed with carved wood?

NEW CHAPTER LOADING…

I’ve held various titles — business owner, designer, Godmother — but now I’m preparing for a new and special one: Mother.

I’m officially on maternity leave. Admittedly it’s not easy stepping back from my first baby, Beth Diana Smith Interior Design, and entrusting her to someone else’s hands. But I know that taking this time to slow down, nest, and prepare is exactly what I’m meant to do.

Baby Joshua is expected to arrive in the next couple of weeks, and awaiting his arrival has me flooded with feelings, thoughts, and million other things. But overall, I am grateful. 💚

🚪 Before & After: Powder Room ✨

This powder room used to be…forgettable (and very beige). Now she’s black and white, dressed with brass hardware, and finished with an unexpected tile floor. Zoom in and to spot the ladies gracing the tile. 💁🏽‍♀️

🚪 Before & After: Entryway Transformation ✨

An entryway sets the tone for the home—it’s both an introduction and a transition that connects to other spaces.

We took this one from dated to bold: the stairs were painted black for presence, the yellow paint was replaced with crisp off-white walls to create contrast, and the old tile was swapped for new wood flooring. To make it both practical and personal, we added easy-to-move seating—perfect for slipping shoes on and off and doubling as extra seating when entertaining.

The result is an entryway that feels intentional and welcoming. Proof that transition spaces deserve just as much love as the main rooms.

Somehow I’ve had a lot of convos about foyers and stairwells this week, so it felt like the right time to share this one.

🚪 Before & After: Dining Room Transformation ✨

This is the same home with the black and mustard kitchen and the sultry bedroom with the vaulted, wallpapered ceiling that I shared recently. Each space was designed to be distinct, but together they create a cohesive story.

New wood flooring lays the foundation, while the fireplace was reinvented—tiled in bronze, topped with quartzite, and fitted with an electric fireplace insert for both style and function. The showstopper? The 13-foot wall above the fireplace is wallpapered in Moko, a collaboration between and .harris.home that I had the pleasure of working on. The wallpaper was being discontinued, so I ordered the last few rolls in mid-2023 and held onto them until the site was ready because my client and I both knew it was the one.

The result is a dining space layered with warmth, texture, and artistry. Designed to set the tone for unforgettable meals and gatherings… and a romantic meal or two. 👀

The lesson? If you love it, buy it and save it. ✍🏽

🚪 Before & After: Primary Bedroom Transformation ✨

We turned this room into a moody, layered retreat that accentuates the vaulted ceiling and architectural character.

’s Organic Shapes Wallpaper by Sarah Sherman Samuel draws the eye upward, while new picture frame molding drenched in a rich plum-meets-brown hue wraps the space in warmth. On the floor, Lulu & Georgia’s Yana Hand-Knotted Wool Rug adds brightness and contrast against the new wood flooring, grounding the entire room.

Sexy sconces, stunning oversized gold-leaf art, and a cozy seating area complete the look—making this bedroom feel indulgent, personal, and unforgettable.

Who else wishes they had a vaulted bedroom ceiling? 👀

PS - Removing the carpet to replace with wood flooring was monumental in transforming this space. 👏🏽
