A lot of discussion in the antiques business revolves around how markets have shifted. Many categories cost a small fraction of what they did just 10, 20, or 30 years ago. For those looking at this with a glass half full perspective, it has opened the door and made antiques affordable to nearly everyone. Fine 19th century Staffordshire china such as Late Adams was once quite pricey. Not anymore. I bought a collection in mint condition (a selection seen here) and will bring some to our show on Oct. 17. For example, handleless cups and saucers will be marked $15. It can be used and looks great in any decor. Keep an eye on this page in the weeks leading up to the show. It is shaping up to be a special one.

Our friend Gladys Eckenrode helped save the historic Trinity Chapel in Reinholds, Pa. We support her and this small event she manages. It will be held on Sat. August 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., free admission, in the small town of Reinholds, Pa., near Adamstown.
