Micah Wiles (.creek.farm) creates intricate, impeccable baskets from split white oak, often sourcing and preparing the materials himself on his 100-acre family farm in Pulaski County, Kentucky. The artist and farmer has been making baskets for over a decade, continuing a fiber-art legacy that has become closely associated with Appalachian and south-central Kentucky craft in recent decades despite its Old World roots. Recognizing “the fragility of the tradition,” and his desire to see it continue, Wiles wanted to inspire more people to become dedicated weavers, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to go from tree to basket on their own.

Coincidentally, Cynthia Main, the artist behind Berea, Kentucky’s small-batch production studio Sunhouse Craft (), had approached Wiles about teaching her staff about the artform. Link in bio to read the full article.

So now we have multiple options of tool grippers for skinny tools! There's also an option for the fatter tools that will be posted soon.
