Even after leaving the nest, young Brown Thrashers (Toxostoma rufum) like the one pictured here, rely on their parents for food while they learn to forage on their own. The thrasher was officially recognized as Georgia's State Bird in 1970. Thank you to GWF's Hank Ohme for another great photo!

What’s your hummingbird feeder setup? Multiple feeders or just one? Are you team fancy or practical? Do you prefer saucer type or bottle style? Window hanger, shepherds hook or tree hanging? Ant traps are a must! Post pics of your feeders in the comments—we’d love to see them!

June and most of July can be a little slow at our hummingbird feeders as females are busy nesting and males are guarding territories. But it’s important to keep your feeders clean and filled with fresh nectar for those times they do drop by. Activity will pick up in late Summer, peaking in August and September. ❤️
