​I'm an Air Force brat and I have lived in 7 different states all over USA. I grew up with a Mother, Grandmother, sisters, cousins who all sewed. Mother had a successful drapery business. My dad learned to quilt late in life and found it very satisfying. Grandma quilted but I learned to hand quilt in what would have been called a Quilting Bee from friends at church. This gave me a sense of communi

ty. It is tradition that when getting married the couple receive a quilt. From this tradition I have learned in my family that the milestones in life are best commemorated by a quilt. Such as birth, baptism, graduation, marriage, anniversary, memorial or any other milestone.
