Here is a sneak peak at a personal and meaningful project (will post the completed project once it's done-stay tuned!). Stone is Kay County Chert and Mozarkaite - stones that traditionally saw use in my area. Approx 7" x 6"

*I haven't posted much for quite sometime. Time has been in extremely short supply. Once I complete my return to grad school in December, I should reclaim some time (I have been going straight through school and will continue by taking classes all summer as well. Plan is to complete in a year and half--goal--barring the unforseen anyways!). Once completed I should be up and going on here again. Until then it will be spotty.. but still have a few projects here and there planned that will be fun to check out!*

So this is the reason I got into knapping--always marveled at the real artifacts. This is a real find the other day with a good friend. Amazingly this has survived in a farm field all these years and to boot is the best point I've ever found! I was over the moon with it!! I'm not an expert by any stretch on typology, but I think it would be called a Hidden Valley point. It has been well used and sharpened many times. It has a strong left bevel which is why I'm guessing the Hidden Valley (info in one of the pics). My next guess would be a Dickson. Either way I hope to have an authenticator look at it in a few weeks and see what he calls it. Regardless, it was a lucky 🍀 day hunting arrowheads with good company!
