🌱 THIS is what a complete yard renovation looks like!
We’ve been working on this one for over a month, and we’re finally getting close to seeing some GREEN!
About a month ago, we sprayed the existing turf with Roundup/glyphosate and diquat to attack the Bermuda grass and start with a clean slate.
Once it was dead, we brought in the soil conditioner/Harley rake to work the ground and pull up as much of that old Bermuda as possible.
And when we say we removed it—we mean it! 😂
We filled an entire 20-yard dumpster with Bermuda grass and hauled it away. During that process we lost a little topsoil, so we brought fresh topsoil back in and regraded the yard.
Today we broadcast spread:
🌱 Big League 3-Way Turf-Type Fescue
🌱 High-calcium lime
🌱 Fertilizer
Tomorrow, we’ll get the straw blown on and the automatic sprinklers installed.
And that last part is IMPORTANT. You can spend all the money and time in the world killing the old turf, prepping the soil, adding topsoil, lime, fertilizer and quality grass seed—but without consistent WATER, all that work can be wasted.
Automatic sprinklers will keep this new seed consistently moist during germination and give this yard the best chance possible to establish.
Now comes the fun part… LET’S GROW SOME GRASS! 🌱💦
