About Beth’s Tree Farm
In 2019, I found myself in that end of year Christmas frenzy most moms go through. What do I give my kid’s teacher as a gift? What do I give to the person who is helping my child grow? And what can I give to 7 different teachers? I had some old wood behind my drawing table that had been staring at me for a long time. I joyfully painted a Christmas tree on it and smiled. It was simple, lovely, spirited, and thoughtful. I wrote the word “JOY” on the top. Then, on the next, “PEACE.” Then, I added snow and simple red ornaments. Suddenly, my drawing table was covered with a farm of joyful Christmas trees! I loved them. The teachers loved them. And I imagined this event. I imagined my friends, neighbors and strangers coming to my tree farm to share my joy with them. Welcome to Beth’s Tree Farm. The Materials
Each fence post has been rescued from the trash to live a new life as a piece of art! Fence posts are lightly cleaned to maintain their aged coloration. Beth uses Sherwin Williams house paint so your recycled fence post can be displayed in the garden. Fading and natural discoloration from weather should be expected (especially with the extremes in Houston). Shipping
Generally, fence posts are picked up locally in Kingwood, TX. But, Beth’s Tree Farm does offer shipping in the continental U.S. Shipping costs vary depending on the size, weight, and final destination. Estimate about $18 or more if you wish to ship freshly painted fence posts.

Travel stitching has become a new hobby for me. I pick a place during our travel and make a postcard memory. This spring my parents are having quite an adventure! I loved this green roadside country scene from early on in their trip. It’s a patchwork of greens. I’m not sure they even stopped here but sometimes road trips are like that.

I liked February’s winter piece so much, I moved right into spring with a brighter green color palette and pops of bright colors with our Texas wildflowers.

The seasons here are funny, it’s fall around Christmas when the leaves finally fall off the trees, we get a freeze, it’s winter for about 2 weeks with no leaves and then the earth wakes up quickly and brilliantly with greens, reds, purple, yellow and pinks. It’s hard to believe we are in a drought when you see all the wildflowers of spring.

Do you have a favorite spring wildflower?

Spring shown first, then winter.

This is a piece I started 2 years ago, I was experimenting with my sewing machine. It sat right on my desk while I pondered what to do next! It’s finally landed in a hoop and I’m very happy with the progress.

There are a lot of layers to this piece, giving it some whimsy. Lately, stitching the sky has been a good companion for watching Christmas movies.
