If you enjoy reusing and repurposing, this is a great project where you’ll learn how to turn those t-shirts into a quilt top. And be sure to use our long arm services to do the quilting! T-shirt quilts are a great way to wrap yourself up in memories of home for those going away to college or remember a lost loved one.

Classes are private or semi-private; we work with up to 2 students at a time. For groups of three or more, please contact the shop.

Bought a machine, but have no idea on the upkeep?
Wondered what all those feet are for?
Inherited grandma’s machine that looks like a 1940s battleship?

If you’ve said yes to any of these questions, you need our workshop.

In this 1 hour class we will help you get started sewing with your machine. You’ll learn how to properly thread your machine, wind and insert a bobbin, determine accurate thread tension and sew basic seams. We’ll help you navigate your machine’s various function keys, stitch options, and sewing machine feet.

Bring your sewing machine (if it’s not brand new, be sure it’s been recently serviced), the owners manual, all the accessories, power cord and foot pedal.

Meet our Block Printing Instructor Kristi Westberg!

Kristi teaches Block Printing exclusively at Quilt’n’Things, and we are so delighted to have her. I take her class the 3rd Saturday of the month myself and it’s my favorite day at the shop! Kristi is the artist behind , a surface pattern design studio and she’s also the Senior Book and Paper Conservator at The Huntington. We’re lucky to have teachers with such amazing talent and credentials. We just happen to have a couple spots available this Saturday if you want to try the class out!
