Genuine pink Depression glass is generally lighter in weight, features crisp and sharp pattern details, and often contains tiny air bubbles or minor manufacturing flaws. Reproductions are typically thicker, heavier, have a slicker or more greasy feel, and exhibit softer or less detailed patterns.

This authentic Mayfair Rose Pink Depression Era Pedestal Candy Jar recently sold along with a Cookie Jar in the same pattern to a couple out hunting for antique treasurers.
Mrs. X was a bit hesitant buying both pieces, but Mr. X was insistent saying, "if you like them, get them!"

* Colored glass is allowed in Amish communities because it is viewed as a functional and decorative household item rather than a violation of their religious principles.

A lady purchased this lovely antique "Weller Pottery" jardiniere yesterday (6/16/26) from dealer JAN. She was attracted to the blue color because her collection is mostly shades of green and she wanted something different.

* In 1872, Samuel A. Weller founded Weller Pottery in Fultonham, Ohio, United States. Originally, his business consisted of a small cabin and one beehive kiln, and Weller produced flower pots, bowls, crocks, and vases. By 1905, Weller Pottery was the largest pottery in the country. It mass-produced art pottery until about 1920, and it produced commercial lines until the pottery closed in 1948.

* Weller Pottery produced various blue colorways and lines across its long history, but specific lines featuring a prominent, standout blue glaze were introduced primarily in the late 1920s and 1930s.
