Last year, I was asked to help form a parent advisory board for the state of New Hampshire's Healthy Families America. It was a program I was apart of when I was pregnant and Vaelin was in up until the age of 3. They are a federally funded with grants that help families all over the nation with all sorts of different things but most importantly are the home visitors. This April, NH Governor Ayotte made an appreciation week for home visitors. During a conversation with a wonderful woman named Eva, who runs the board meetings and does sooo much more, informed me there was no sort of recognition for project managers or supervisors. With that discussion I decided I wanted to make sure they got the recognition and thanks they deserve. I spent some time painting a "Graditude Bouquet" that had a lot of symbolism. During a few board meeting we voted on what the message would be and some quotes from the home visitors about their supervisors. This will be sent out digitally to the NH HFA supervisors and project managers soon. The original canvas will be passed around as an award like the Stanley cup. Like a traveling appreciation artwork. I'm happy to donate my time to such a meaningful project so close to my heart.
