Meet Maddie, our Senior Designer! ✨

Maddie has been working behind the scenes with Parklin Interiors, and we’re excited for her to step into an even bigger role on our team. Her eye for the little details—and her knack for creating layered and memorable spaces—make her such a special part of what we do.

Maddie studied design at Scottsdale Community College in 2019 and never looked back. Today, she’s working full time in the industry and continuing to grow with Parklin and the world of short-term rental design.

Her personal style? MCM eclectic with a mix of moody vintage. When she’s not designing, you’ll find her spending time with family, thrifting, getting outdoors, or caring for the family’s “zoo” of animals.

Her design superpower is all in the details. One favorite example: cactus-shaped pillows in a bunk room that had the kids absolutely thrilled. Those are the moments that make it all worthwhile.

Maddie loves designing game rooms and bunk rooms, where she can get creative and do something unexpected. She can’t design without a good podcast or documentary. Her love for homes that tell a story—through family photos, thrifted finds, and collected art—carries into her STR designs, where she creates spaces that feel full of personality and leave guests with memories of their own.

We’re so happy to have Maddie Shayne growing with Parklin. Say hi and help us give her a warm welcome! 🤍

The Black Walnut — hits different. Set on 3 acres and spanning over 6,000 sq feet tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains of Nellysford, Virginia. 🌿

Nellysford has that rare, easy magic: tucked between Charlottesville and Wintergreen, surrounded by mountain views, local vineyards and breweries, hiking trails, and every excuse to slow down.

The Black Walnut is an invitation to do exactly that—gather, explore a little, and make memories in a place that feels both elevated & intimate but large enough for endless amenities!

This is the best compliment and means SO much to us. 🤍

Great design is only part of what we do. Our designs also have to make sense in the real world—for the contractors, installers and crews actually bringing them to life.

When the team on the other side says implementing our designs is their “happy place”… we’ll take that compliment all day long. 🙌

Clear direction. Smooth ex*****on. That’s always the goal.

Thank you, Five Star Builders! 🤍

Case Study: Mod Mountain
What can the right renovation + design strategy actually do for an STR? 👀

Mod Mountain was an empty property with potential! Close to town, views, exterior space to work with, and some unfinished spaces. Every square inch had to be renovated; but when the numbers work, that makes for an easy business decision!

This is why we look at STR design through two lenses: the guest experience AND the investment.

Swipe to see the numbers + details! Most exciting is the last slide ~ MAJOR UPSIDE FOR YEAR 2! 👏🎉
