10/31 SATURDAY HOURS CHANGE! This Saturday only, we are changing our hours since its Halloween! We’ll be open from 10-4. The lafayette fall festival will be in our parking lot, so please plan to park elsewhere. The festival was an amazing time last year so definitely swing by and check it out! We’re also working on our updated seasonal menu, some items will be available to do this weekend, with a full launch next week. We can’t wait to see what you create!

We’ve been open for ONE WHOLE YEAR!! This last week was our opening anniversary! I can’t even believe we’ve made it and got to see all the amazing things you’ve created along the way. I have a thousand photos to go through, these dont even scratch the surface, but I wanted to at least start and showcase a few of our amazing crafters. Thank YOU EVERYONE who has came in and supported our business. I cannot express to you how much it means to us. This is our dream and you are making it become a reality. I cry happy tears every time we get a new crafter and I cry extra hard when I see a repeat crafter. I truly love seeing everything you create and it makes me so happy you took a few minutes out of your week to do something with your hands. Ben, Atlas, and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts 💚

If you’ve been to The Craft Place before, there’s a good chance you’ve met Mae! Well, we’re SO excited to share that she’s stepping away from behind the craft counter and teaching her very own workshop!!

And trust us, this is a fun one. 🎃

Join Mae for WITCH HAT MAGIC, where you’ll turn a basic witch hat into a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art!

Using fabrics, ribbons, textures, found objects, and a little creative problem-solving, you’ll build a witch hat that’s as weird, whimsical, or wonderfully over-the-top as you’d like.

Mae actually came up with this workshop after creating her own witch hat because she couldn’t find one she loved. Now she’s sharing the process with all of you!

🎃 Mushrooms, Pumpkins, Acorns, Oh my!

Our lovely instructor Noelle from Big Ash Farm is back for another needle-felting workshop at The Craft Place

This time, we’re making miniature pumpkins, acorns, mushrooms and more that can be turned into earrings or charms for your bags, jackets, keychains, or even gifts!

This beginner-friendly workshop will teach you how to needle-felt tiny sculptural forms using locally raised wool from Noelle’s very own Icelandic sheep flock. She even hand-dyes the wool herself! Literally farm to table. 🐑

It’s truly a unique experience to work with Noelle and you’ll leave with a finished pair of little fall treasures.

New Dad’s Group !

As a reminder, we host a free New Dads group and it’s still going strong! Details below :)

This message is from Ben, husband of Samantha. My wife Samantha authors most of our messaging, but I have a big announcement - back in March I kicked off a new Dad’s Group in the Lafayette area called “Marquis Dad Lafayette”.

It’s a series of casual gatherings at places like The Craft Place, breweries, and walking trails in and around Lafayette. New Dads show up with their babies, chat with fellow new Dads, maybe go on a walk or have a drink.

It’s open to all new Dads with babies born in 2025 or 2026. The birthdate restriction is not meant to be exclusionary, it’s meant to spark stronger engagement and richer connections among Dads because their babies are all roughly the same age.

The main question I get at The Craft Place is - whats your background/craft? It’s actually photography! That’s what I have a college degree in 😂

If you’ve been wanting to learn Photography basics, Id love to have you join our workshop. We’ll go over how to set your aperture (what aperture is!), shutter speed, angles, lens types, ISO, etc. It’s a 3 hour, super small class where you’ll have plenty of time to actually practice instead of just hearing me lecture.

In this modern twist on an ancient Japanese art form, you’ll learn how to use foam blocks and fabric to create a beautiful quilt-like artwork without ever picking up a needle or thread. Leave this beginner focused workshop with your very own cute and spooky fabric mosaic of a cat sitting on the moon.
