Last week was Fall Market at PDC Pacific Design Center, along with Hollywood Design Walk — a wonderful few days of discovering what’s new in the industry, listening to inspiring design conversations, gallery-hopping, and reconnecting with friends and colleagues across the design community.
Los Angeles truly has one of the most incredible design communities. We are fortunate to see the best, learn from the best, and be surrounded by so much creativity, talent, art, and innovation. There is always something new to discover.
But this year, my favorite part was something a little different — spending time with students from design schools and having the opportunity to mentor and encourage the next generation of designers.
Having built my own path in this industry, I know how meaningful it can be to have someone share their experience, offer perspective, or simply remind you to trust your own voice. Mentorship is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back — passing along not only what we’ve learned, but also the encouragement and confidence that can make a difference early in someone’s journey.
Thank you, AAPI Design Alliance for including me as a mentee and for creating opportunities that bring our design community together. Giving back to the next generation feels truly special. 🤍
