Glennwood’s Spring Highlights as we jump into summer fun activities!

Glennwood spent the morning at Chapman University with Dr. Cosier, presenting at the Disabilities Studies Class.

Amy and Spencer participated in trainings for Orange County Sheriffs on encountering neurodivergent community members.

Great fun attending the Orange County Triathlon at Lake Mission Viejo.

LOCA’s Glennwood Advanced Art Academy finished their spring “Angel” project.

Glennwood welcomed the Orange County Community Foundation to Glennwood House.

Once a month we venture out on a naturalist led nature hike/exploration walk thru Crystal Cove with our friends at State Parks. This month we incorporated an art activity inspired by what we saw on our walk. We get to learn all about the wildlife, plants, and nature in our community. This month we were joined by new friends we met from the Crystal Cove Conservancy. Our walks are one of the highlights of every month that we get to experience!

We started our day giving thanks to all those who died serving our country and ended the day with fun water games and patriotic art activities. What a fun day we had!

The adventure continues!

Thank you to Izzy and the whole team at Surfers Healing for an amazing day out on the waves at Doheny Beach. Glennwood residents and families from the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center at CHOC, Orange rode the waves and enjoyed a picnic lunch thanks to our collaboration with Scott Kibbey and the California State Parks, Orange Coast District. The adaptive surfing program offered first time and more experienced wave riders a perfect day experiencing the joys of surfing with the pros!!

Our very own Spencer is our super triathlon athlete. Spencer wanted to complete a sprint triathlon and with the help of our very own staff member Michael he has successfully completed two. This year he shaved off an hour from his time from last year’s race. Big thanks to Coach Michael for helping Spencer reach his goal. Amazing! We are so proud of him for his determination and courage! He is a true example of anything is possible if we just dream big and have the heart of a warrior! Well done Spencer! You inspire us all to chase our dreams and just do it!!

Some Residents had a day-long adventure to the Renaissance Faire! They had a fun filled day of dressing up, watching shows, in person experiences with character actors, hunting for gnomes, enjoying giant turkey legs, and learning about renaissance age printing and coin making, crafting, metal carving and pewter pouring.
Their whirlwind adventure was the ultimate experience they will not soon forget!

G Force had a great year making a difference in our community. 2025 brought us to the Canine Companion Training Center, making Build A Bears and Valentine’s Day bags for our friends at TANC, volunteering at Julie Foudy Soccer Camp, Coastal Crew helping our Parks and Beaches with their butterfly garden revitalization and beach clean up projects and providing welcome bags and refreshments for the artists at the Festival of Arts this past summer! So many possibilities for community engagement in 2026! Look out world here comes G Force!
