I made the Top 8!

I made the Top 8 in the STEM WARS competition hosted by Details Flowers Software, Society of American Florists, Ball Cut Flowers and Allure Farms! In this email, I give a little more detail about the creative design process to incorporate the lowly tumbleweed into an upgraded design showcasing the two new products: Ageratum and Didiscus.

ABQ Rail Yards Market

We have been selected as a vendor for the ABQ Rail Yards for a couple of Sundays each month. We will be in attendance on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 10:00am to 2:00pm in Booth 110. Come say hello and see what our floral selection for the week is.

American Heart Association of New Mexico

Shayai Lucero, owner and floral designer of Earth & Sky Floral Designs, has just joined the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association of New Mexico. Shayai will be celebrating her 5-year anniversary of surviving The Widowmaker heart attack on June 7, 2023. She is excited to bring more awareness of heart health to the Native American communities in New Mexico.

Shayai also serves as President for the Board of Directors for the Changing Woman Initiative. She arranged a visit to the CWI Clinic for the AHANM Executive Director Sherri Wells and Community Impact Director Sheryl Wilkeson. They met with Nicolle Arthun, Founder and Health Policy Director, Carolina Nkoagua, Midwifery Director and Taleisa Benally, Nutrition Program Coordinator to collaborate on future projects.

When Alfred Angelo closed due to bankruptcy, we had one bride who missed out on her dress. If you have an order with David’s Bridal, we recommend getting your dress(es) as soon as possible so that you may not be in a bind.

Please consider a small business wedding shop if you need to order a wedding gown or bridal party dresses. Good Luck!

David's Bridal missed an interest payment on $270 million in unsecured notes. As a result, S&P downgraded the apparel retailer's rating to "selective default" in anticipation of a bankruptcy filing in one month.

On July 22, 2018, Earth & Sky Floral Designs participated in the Not Your Mother's Wedding Show at Duel Brewing in Albuquerque. We had an fabulous time at this event - filled with live and DJ music, drag queen performances, a magician, tasty treats, and potential couples.

Sample bouquets were created for the event in various styles. Our goal for this photo shoot was to showcase two different fashion/clothing styles with each woman carrying the same bouquet. Lady Shug Delacruz (Dine) is representing the LGBTIQ2S community in a very glamorous style of fashion. Julianne (Acoma) is wearing traditional Pueblo clothing and represents the Pueblo people.

The choice of clothing was left up to the model. I wanted to show potential customers that whatever style you want your wedding to have, Earth & Sky Floral can do our best to accommodate you. ~Shayai
